ABOUT THE WORK
Cecilia Venier Baffo | ca. 1525 - 1583 Illegitimate daughter of Nicolò Venier and Violante Baffo, she became the wife of Selîm II, reigning as sultana over the Ottoman Empire. She is known by the name of Afife Nurbanu Sultan, Nûr Bânû to her friends.
