Passionate about Moebius' comics and Miyazaki's films, Jean Mallard quickly fell in love with drawing and decided never to be separated from it. He studied at the Arts Décoratifs de Paris, from which he graduated in 2021. His favorite technique is watercolour, which has been with him since childhood, and with which he works with a meticulous and naive approach, towards a search for harmony and joy. His subjects vary, from the ardor of large Mediterranean cities, the depth of internal worlds and the nostalgia of lost paradises. In 2019, he moved to Naples, where he produced a series of illustrations that will give life to his first Exhibition: Via Miracoli. Since then, he has been offering his images through publishing, cinema, the press, music, perfumes, cities... His next solo exhibition will take place in November 2022 in Paris. His drawings were selected at the Bologna Illustration Fair in 2018 and 2020, as well as in Angoulême in 2019. He received the Grand Prix in Bologna in 2018.
