CA_TETER

Jorge Mato (aka ca_teter), born in 1977 in Uruguay, is an illustrator and visual artist, graduated in Plastic and Visual Arts from the University of the Arts of Uruguay in 2014. He has been working on illustration projects since 2004 and has exhibited regularly since 2009.

His book The Great Race won the Uruguay National Literature Prize 2021, was selected for the White Ravens 2021 catalog and for the Bologna Ragazzi Prize 2022.

He won the National Illustration Award of Uruguay in 2018 and 2023 and was a finalist at the Illustration Exhibition of the Bologna Children's Book Fair in 2022 and 2023.

Thanks to the first prize in the Irudika 2024 call, he has done an artistic residency between France, Mexico and the Basque Country. In 2024 he participates in the Festival of Illustration in Setúbal (Portugal) and had a solo exhibition at the Mutty Gallery (Italy).
