"A garden. A city. Serenity in uncertainty. A research focused on suppressed memories and their residual presence today. At the center of a hidden garden within a city composed mainly of narrow streets and canals: Venice. A space of intimacy with nature is governed by the elements that compose it. A selection of drawings showing scenes from nature, is the result of a creative process that could be compared to a garden in progress. The choice of pen as well as black and white, was born mainly from one reason: the reduction. The cypress has always stood out for me over the years and even more in Venice. This series of drawings began with an admiration towards the most common tree species in European cemeteries, sometimes titled "cypress of the cemetery". The concept has evolved towards isolating different natural elements from their surroundings, resulting in a "floating" image and allowing the focus to fall on the de tcuts and on the contrast of the subject itself."
